Ms. Samantha Geraldine G. De los Santos completed her Master of Arts in Sociology, at UPLB, with a master’s thesis on the social definition of climate change in fishing communities in Sarangani, Philippines. Her current research involvement is in a research program on socio-ecological production landscapes and seascapes and climate-smart communities under the Emerging Inter-Disciplinary Research Program of the UP System.

Ms. De los Santos’ research interest is in climate change adaptation and mitigation. She has worked on research projects on climate change impacts in agricultural communities in Bicol Region and Central Luzon, and on lakeshore communities in the Major Lakes of Luzon (e.g. Laguna Lake, Bato Lake, Buhi Lake, Taal Lake, Naujan Lake). She also has experience in conducting climate change awareness-raising and community resilience action planning in fishing communities.

On top of her climate change related works, she led projects on organizational assessment of Irrigators Associations and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in CISC. She also led studies on business development services for ARBOs to help strengthen their capacities in organizational and business management, as well as a study on gender gap analysis in Agrarian Reform Cooperatives in Laguna, Philippines.

During her term, as the Head of the Knowledge Management Office, she leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all activities pertaining to the Knowledge Management program agenda of CPAf, which include ensuring the efficient management of all its publications and official online platforms.
