Dr. Rowena dela Torre Baconguis, Ph.D., is a renowned scholar and academic leader, specializing in Extension Education, a field she pursued at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). Her academic journey began with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors and a Master of Public Administration from Ateneo de Davao University. 

With a prolific publication record exceeding 40 refereed journals, many indexed by ISI, Dr. Baconguis’s scholarly pursuits primarily focus on agricultural extension, farm technologies/practices, and community-based studies. Beyond academia, she actively contributes technical expertise to entities such as the Agricultural Training Institute, significantly impacting educational programs, including the establishment of the BS Agricultural Extension curriculum at Yezin Agriculture University, Myanmar.

Dr. Baconguis’s exceptional contributions have earned her widespread acclaim, including prestigious awards like the CPAf Outstanding Teacher Award and the UPLB Outstanding Teacher Award for the Humanities and Social Sciences. Her influence extends beyond accolades, recognized by the Department of Science and Technology with the NRCP Achievement Award for Governmental, Educational, and International Policies.
