Dr. Maria Luz “Malu” L. Malabayabas is the assistant professor at the Institute for Governance and Rural Development, CPAf, teaching PAf 203 and SPSS 202. Her area of research centers on technology adoption, gender in agriculture, production economics, and sustainable development. Prior to joining the PhD program at Arizona State University (ASU), she used to be an Assistant Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines. She provides technical support in implementing different projects dealing with rice technology adoption in flood and drought-prone areas in several South Asian countries, which led to her extensive research experience. She is very interested in how gender roles can bring newer insights in formulating new policies and interventions in addressing the problems in agriculture.
