The Knowledge Management Office (KMO) of CPAf conducted the “Introduction to Photography Workshop” on May 18, 2016 at the UPLB Graduate School Conference Room.  Officers and members of the UP Photographers’ Society, a socio-cultural organization in UPLB, served as resource speakers and facilitators.

Thirteen CPAf faculty members, researchers, and administrative staff attended the said activity.  Most of them are contributors to the College newsletter, magazine, and website. They serve as content writers and sometimes, as photographers, especially for articles on field works.

In the three-hour workshop, the UP Photographers’ Society provided a lecture on the history of photography, parts of a DSLR camera, exposure and composition techniques, and photography genres. During the open forum, camera handling, maintenance, and ethical considerations in taking pictures were some of the topics discussed.  The group also divided themselves among the participants to provide one-on-one discussions.

KMO hoped that the workshop would enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in digital photography to be able to contribute good quality photographs for College publications.  Meanwhile, some participants requested for another workshop - an advanced course in photography.

KMO is a support unit of CPAf that leads in the production of various knowledge products, which are generated jointly by CPAf research centers, academic unit, and KMO.  These products serve as promotion and research dissemination materials of the College. (by Stella Concepcion R. Britanico)
