The Center for Strategic Planning and Policy Studies (CSPPS) of the College of Public Affairs and Development (CPAf) held its Mid-Year Planning on May 14-16, 2025, in Alfonso, Cavite. The three-day event brought together CSPPS research staff to revisit and refine research priorities across the Center’s core focus areas: social policy and institutions, water and development, and agricultural policy and sustainability.
Each group dedicated to a policy area shared proposed research directions, drawing on horizon scanning—a strategic foresight method for identifying emerging trends and pressing challenges. These presentations led to engaging discussions, with participants contributing valuable insights that expanded and enriched the proposed research agendas.

The planning session highlighted CSPPS’s ongoing dedication to futures-oriented, evidence-based research. Moving forward, these insights will help shape research efforts that address evolving policy challenges and support informed decision-making.
Team-building activities were also conducted following the planning session to foster stronger collaboration and teamwork among CSPPS staff.
