The CPAf Knowledge Management Office (KMO) hosted a benchmarking visit for the newly established KMO of the Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) held on 28 November 2024 at the CPAf Room and CPAf library.
Representatives from SLSU include Dr. Nicanor Guinto, Director of Research and Services, Mx. Amiel Jansen Demetrial, the Head of KMO, and Mr. Aljon Orivida, their staff. “We believe this collaboration will greatly benefit our newly established KMO by providing insights into effective practices and frameworks,” Mx. Demetrial said.
CPAf Dean, Dr. Aileen Lapitan welcomed the SLSU team and mentioned in her opening remarks that CPAf is the first and only College in UPLB to have a KMO. CPAf KMO Head, Dr. Maria Luz Malabayabas then introduced her team and expounded on how KMO works in synergy with the units of CPAf.
During the sharing of practices, University Researchers Charlene Mina and Michiko Buot presented the different knowledge products and services that KMO produces and facilitates for the College such as the Journal of Public Affairs and Development (JPAD), In Focus magazine, and the newsletter CPAf Updates.
Meanwhile, University Extension Specialist, Lauro Atienza shared the process flows in coming up with a database, as well as some of the knowledge platforms of CPAf such as the CPAf official website and social media.
University Researchers from the Center for Strategic Planning and Policy Studies (CSPPS), Ms. Karen Janiya and Mr. Francis Faderogao discussed how they utilize knowledge management in research and extension projects such as the Development Innovations and Policy Laboratory (DIP Lab) and the small lake governance project.
To conclude the benchmarking activity, College Librarian Rhea Sabrido gave a tour to the CPAf Library and explained its services to the SLSU team.
