The College of Public Affairs and Development – Knowledge Management Office (CPAf-KMO) in collaboration with the CPAf Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) held a workshop titled “Getting Started with NVivo: A Workshop on Qualitative Data Management” on March 11, 2025 at the CPAf Computer Laboratory.
The learning session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding and application of qualitative research methods, particularly on data management. In her opening remarks, Dr. Rhea L. Gumasing hoped that this learning event will help each participant move forward with their respective research projects.

Ms. Dhanicca Amor M. Domingo, a University Researcher of the Center for Strategic Planning and Policy Studies (CSPPS) led the lecture and workshop proper. Her discussion covered topics on Basics of Qualitative Research, Quantitative Data Analysis, and Data Management in Qualitative Research. After the lecture, a hands-on demonstration of NVIVO software was conducted that allowed the participants to do simple codework through NVIVO.

Mr. John Vincent Bucal, acting President of GSA and Teaching Fellow at CPAf, facilitated the event which was attended by 12 graduate students of CPAf, including a faculty member and a teaching fellow.
