CPAf Faculty Members Visit Educational Farm in Thailand

The Human and Community Resource Development (HCRD) farm is Kasetsart University’s very own educational farm that CPAf faculty members were eager to visit after hearing about it from CPAf Distinguished Alumnus, Dr. Tanpichai Prasong (PhD Agricultural Education, 1998). The farm is located at the Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Kamphaeng Saen, Kamphaeng Saen District, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

CPAf faculty members who visited the farm last December 5, 2024 were Assistant to the Dean, Dr. Rhea Gumasing, Knowledge Management Office Head, Dr. Maria Luz Malabayabas, Institute for Governance and Rural Development Director, Associate Professor Mayo Grace Amit, and the International Conference on Governance and Development 4 (ICGD4) Chair, Dr. Evelie Serrano.  They also participated in the ICGD4 pre-conference symposium on “Enhancing Lifelong Learning for Carbon Neutrality Engagement.”

The HCRD Farm

The HCRD farm served as a learning ground for students at KU-Kamphaeng Saen Campus where they can appreciate the integration of theory and practice in the field of agriculture. Because of its success, the farm received funds in 2015 that led to the construction of their Farm Praxis building, as named by Dr. Prasong.

Dr. Prasong said that its name is aligned with the principles and the word of the Buddha, “Pariyatti, Patipatti, Pativedha, and Pattiphak” which translates to, “Theoretical, Practice, and Enlightenment.”
